The events of the game SpongeBob SquarePants – The Yellow Avenger begin as SpongeBob was on his way to visit his friend Patrick, when he suddenly saw the Dirty Bubble speeding by and capturing Barnacle Boy. Without hesitation, SpongeBob quickly contacted the superhero Mermaid Man to ask for help in rescuing his partner.

The two tracked the Dirty Bubble to the car wash, but unfortunately, during the confrontation, SpongeBob made a fatal mistake by placing the Dirty Bubble inside the washing machine alongside Mermaid Man’s belt. This caused the bubble to split into countless small evil bubbles. SpongeBob then wore the belt and gained the powers of Mermaid Man. As he tried to adjust to his new abilities, he soon discovered that Bikini Bottom, the underwater city, had turned into a battleground of chaos. A group of villains had begun executing their wicked plans in their own ways: Man Ray was trying to flood Goo Lagoon, the evil snail was causing havoc in the talent shows, while Jumbo Shrimp and Plankton were plotting to shrink the city’s residents down to the size of crustaceans.

But the most dangerous of them all was Atomic Flounder, the monster that spread fear throughout the industrial park. With the rising threats, SpongeBob realized he had to face these evil creatures and save his city—not as a skilled Krabby Patty cook this time, but as a real hero. However, the greatest challenge wasn’t just these villains, but the Dirty Bubble himself who returned stronger than ever, putting SpongeBob in a final battle that would determine the fate of all Bikini Bottom. Will the little sponge be able to prove he’s a true hero?

The game takes players on an exciting journey through the world of SpongeBob, relying on a gameplay style that mixes adventure, puzzle-solving, and classic platforming elements. The adventure begins in Bikini Bottom where players can explore the city and interact with well-known characters like Sandy, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs, each offering side missions that deepen the experience. The core of the game lies in SpongeBob’s superpowers which he gains from Mermaid Man’s belt and which gradually evolve as the story progresses. At first, SpongeBob has basic moves like jumping and punching, but soon he gains new powers such as the water dash, which lets him charge forward at high speed, and the power bubble that allows him to launch strong bubbles to smash enemies or even glide temporarily using quick air bursts.

Each area in the game has different challenges: some include puzzles that require special skills to solve and boss fights that demand varied strategies. For example, facing Man Ray requires using reflection abilities to bounce his attacks back, while Jumbo Shrimp needs quick movement to dodge his rapid assaults.

The world is divided into nine different zones, from Rock Bottom to the residential neighborhood and restaurant district, among others. These environments are filled with elements to jump over or onto, and as you roam around, you’ll find citizens running in every direction while evil bubbles fly above their heads. You can get rid of them by jumping on the heads of the infected citizens—but be careful, as touching them will cause you to lose part of your health. In the end, the game is one of the fun experiences for SpongeBob fans and his cartoon world full of jokes and adventures. With exciting gameplay and a story inspired by the spirit of the show, the game offers a light but enjoyable experience.
